York Power-Duo Helps C-Team Win 33-27 Over Union

Brothers Robert and Cameron York played crucial roles in securing the C-team’s 33-27 victory over the Wildcats on Thursday, Jan. 18. Robert York, the starting varsity quarterback for the Eagles football team in 2023, joined his brother on the court for the first time this season.

“I wanted to play basketball next year, but the coach wanted me to get experience this year. I couldn’t say no, so I decided to play,” Robert York explained. “The reason I was playing C-team was because I’m supposed to be on JV, but they didn’t have any games going on, so I was told to get some playing time by dropping down.”

In his first start, Robert York proved to be a valuable piece of the team, rebounding effectively, dominating on defense and taking the ball down the court for scores with his brother.

Cameron York was ecstatic about having him help on Thursday, saying, “Having my brother Robert in the paint with me helped me focus more on playing defense and getting more steals.”
