XC Country Breaks Records And Personal Bests At Districts In Nixa

The Sullivan cross country team broke records at the Class 4 District 2 tournament in Nixa at the Inman Elementary School Course on Saturday, Oct. 28.

Junior Abram Denney finished with a career best time of 16:47.22, placing 16th out of 118 total runners in the 5k race.

Senior Ian Studdard came in 91st with a time of 19:42.59, freshman Ayden Duncan placed 94th with a time of 19:43.55, sophomore Nolan Studdard got 96th at 19:46.04, freshman Samuel Simington finished 111th at 21:14.55, senior Parker Whaley ranked 114th at 21:49.26 and junior William Hunter made 116th with a time of 22:08.26.

Sullivan finished in 17th place out of 18 teams with an average run time of 19:26 and 408 points.

West Plains finished 1st with 38 points, Bolivar (78) came in 2nd, Helias Catholic (141) at 3rd, Carl Junction (170) ranked 4th, Capital City (173) at 5th, Fulton (185) placed 6th, Washington (185) came in 7th, Pacific (239) finished 8th, Logan-Rogersville seized 9th (270) and Marshfield (282) rounded out the top 10.

The remaining teams ranked as follows: McDonald County at 11th with 303 points, Union (305), Nevada (319), Camdenton (329), Jefferson City (383), Hillcrest (390) and Monett rounded out the rankings with 411 points.

Girls

Freshman Mariah Denney claimed 2nd place with a personal best and school record time of 18:34.75.

Freshman Eden Lambert finished in 35th with a time of 21:37.21 and 29 points, senior Breanna Mayberry (36) came in 42nd at 22:01.08, senior Jade Studdard (54) placed 66th at 24:03.66, senior Maria Schatzl (62) finished 74th at 24:56.09 and Alexandra McLain-Williams (67) made 82nd at 28:38.44.

Sullivan High School finished 8th out of 10 teams with 176 points and an average time of 22:14.

Bolivar secured the top spot with 46 points, followed by West Plains (60) in 2nd, Jefferson City (114) in 3rd, Fulton (121) in 4th, Washington (128) in 5th, Union (141) in 6th, Carl Junction (155) in 7th, Pacific (179) in 9th and McDonald County rounding out the list with 266 points.
