Volleyball Finishes Third At Troy Tournament

The Lady Eagles had another exciting weekend at a tournament.

Sullivan traveled to Troy Buchanan Saturday and played six games at two matches in one day.

Every match was a battle and Sullivan’s “never surrender” attitude shined. The Lady Eagles started the day with a tie against Montgomery County.

Four close matches later, and Sullivan was down with a tie and two losses. The Lady Eagles bounced back to defeat the tournament hosts and were defeated by Liberty (Wentzville) in the next game.

The turning point was when Sullivan collapsed Whitfield to take revenge from their previous loss in the day. Sullivan’s resilience helped them go home with a third place finish.

Montgomery County

Sullivan and Montgomery County tied the game. Sullivan claimed the victory in the first set, 29-27. The Lady Wildcats prevailed with the win in the second set, 25-18.

Ava Blankenship had the most kills with five. Stevi Saling followed with four kills. Raegan Johnson made two kills and one assist and ace. Emily Clonts and Emma Brune each had one kill. Clonts claimed an ace and Carley Godfrey got an ace. Maci Nolie tallied eleven assists, one ace, and two kills.

Whitfield (Game One)

Sullivan fell to Whitfield in both sets, 25-20 and 25-18.

Blankenship led in kills again with four. Brune followed with three. Olivia Witt and Saling tallied two kills. Johnson made one kill. Nolie claimed ten assists, one ace, and three points.

Hannibal

Hannibal was victorious in two sets, 25-19 and 25-18.

The Lady Eagles defeated Troy Buchanan in both sets, 25-16 and 26-24.
