Varsity Boys Basketball Defeated By Cuba And Hermann On Back-To-Back Days

The boys’ basketball team lost 47-33 in their rematch against Cuba on Monday, Jan. 29.

The Eagles completed 11-41 of their field goals and 6-13 of their free throws. They tallied up 26 rebounds, five assists, and a steal.

Sullivan first played against the Wildcats on Nov. 27, 2023, in their season opener during the FCNB Bank-It Championship.

Hermann

The Eagles struggled to break through the Bearcats in a 46-33 loss on Thursday, Jan. 30.

University of Missouri football head coach Eliah Drinkwitz made a surprising appearance at the game and was there to scout Hermann basketball center Daeden Hopkins.

Hopkins is a 6’6”, 210-pound junior three-star recruit and a rising football defensive end/tight end. He is ranked #38 for high school edge rushers in America and #5 for Missouri. Hopkins had a team-high four blocks in the basketball game against Sullivan on Thursday night.

The Eagles went 13-38 on field goals and 2-4 on free throws. They racked up 17 rebounds, four assists and two steals.

The Bearcats executed 18-33 of their field goals and 5-8 of their free throws. Hermann tallied up 20 rebounds, 11 assists, four steals, and four blocks.

While varsity lost, Sullivan’s JV team pulled a 39-26 win against Hermann beforehand.
