Twelve Sullivan Eagles Medaled At Owensville Invitational

The Sullivan Eagles had an exciting week of wrestling. The boys finished their week on Saturday at the 2023 Owensville Invitational. Five Eagles finished with first place medals.

Camden Henderson medaled in fourth for 106. In round one, he was pinned by Matthew Pfeiffer of Missouri Military Academy at 1:34. Henderson pinned William Nick of Park Hills at 1:36. Fatima's Tucker Tune pinned Henderson in round four at 1:41. He was pinned by Brock Arrowood at fifty eight seconds in round five.

Carter Blankenship brought home a fourth place medal for 113. Fatima’s Alek Tune pinned Blankenship at 4:56 in round one. In round two, he was pinned by Carter Kempker of Blair Oaks in fifteen seconds. Blankenship fell to Osage’s Zac Green by a pin at 1:46 in round three. In round four, Blankenship pinned Caleb Xamis of Missouri Military Academy at 1:13. He claimed fourth place with a pin over Samuel Mullins of Park Hills at 3:10.

Oliver Borton got a third place medal for 120. In round one, Borton pinned Dexter’s Chase Berry at 3:31. He pinned Owensville’s Dalton Nochta at 3:14 in round two. In round three, Borton fell to Austin Hassell by a technical fall of 16-0 at 3:33. Borton fell by a technical fall of 16-1 at 3:13 by Easton DeMilia of Blair Oaks in round four. He pinned Fatima’s Zack Kloeppel at 3:33 to medal in third.

Sam Hecht finished in third place for 126. Fatima’s Cody Strope pinned Hecht at 3:20 in round one. He pinned Samuel Stevens of Missouri Military Academy at 3:12 in round two. In round three, Hecht was pinned by Whit Nichols of Blair Oaks in three minutes. Hecht pinned Dexter’s Conrad Purnell at 1:04 in round four. He got third when he pinned Elijah Kofron of Park Hills at 1:38.

Eli Peregoy was crowned champion of the 132 class. He pinned Osage’s George Long at 5:13 in round one. In round two, Peregoy pinned Ryan Miles of Missouri Military Academy at 2:49. He won by a 13-5 major decision over Bradyn Huhn of Blair Oaks in round three. In round four, he pinned Mathew Clark of Park Hills at 3:21. Peregoy defeated Dexter’s Eric Harmon in the final round.

Dominic Ransom won the championship for 138. Ransom pinned Alexander Snyder of Missouri Military Academy at 2:29 in round one. In round two, he pinned Adam Ashworth of Borgia at 1:07. He pinned Cole Crocker of Park Hills at 3:47 in round three at 3:47. In round four, Ransom won by a 13-4 major decision over Tyler Kloeppel of Fatima. He won the championship when he won by a 9-5 decision over Nolan Lughlin of Blair Oaks.

Draysen Nolie medaled in fourth place for 144. He received a bye in round one and in round two he was pinned by Jackson Finke of Blair Oaks at 1:41. In round three, Nolie pinned Adam Gowen of Park Hills at 2:53. Dexter’s Ryan Young pinned him in round four at 3:08. Nolie finished in fourth when he was pinned by Bryson Powell of Missouri Military Academy at 1:38.

Adam Peregoy won the championship for 150. In round one, he pinned Osage’s Jeremiah Hallie in forty one seconds. Peregoy pinned Fatima’s Jesse Schroeder in round two at thirty eight seconds. He won by 10-3 decision over Dexter’s Kasen Forkum in round three. In round four, Peregoy pinned Garrett McDowel of Park Hills in 1:38. He won the championship when he pinned Nate Clarkson of Borgia at 1:13.

Colton Brendel won the championship for 157. He pinned Dexter’s James Deberry in round one in fifty five seconds. In round two, Brendel pinned Brett Miles of Missouri Military Academy at 3:38. He pinned Owensville’s Timothy Winterbauer in round three at 1:29. In round four, Osage’s Amus Mundy was pinned by Brendel at 2:39. He won the championship in twenty three seconds when he pinned Dakota Bowers of Park Hills.

Wieland Schmuke won the 165 championship. In round one, he pinned Owensville’s Garrett Hunter in forty nine seconds. Schmuke pinned Gabriel Canonico of Missouri Military Academy in round two at fifty seconds. He won the championship in thirty three seconds when he pinned Blake Krull of Missouri Military Academy in round three.

Parker Montee represented 175 and got a bye in round four. In round one, Montee pinned Joseph Volmert of Borgia at 1:29. He was pinned by Osage’s Zack Isom at one minute in round two. In round three, Montee was pinned by Owensville’s Kaleb Wells in twenty nine seconds. He was pinned by Volmert in the fifth place match at 1:08.

Kane Strehl finished in second place for 190. Strehl pinned Dexter’s Carson Mullins at 1:32 in round one. In round two, he pinned Borgia’s Will Clarkson at 5:30. He received a bye in round three. Strehl pinned Owensville’s Brendan Kramme at 1:36 in round four. In round five, Strehl was pinned by Cole Peters of Blair Oaks at 1:20.

Jeremiah Rodriguez claimed second place in the 215 division. He fell in round one to Fatima’s Trevor Herzing by a 13-0 major decision. In round two, Rodriguez was pinned by Brady Kerperin of Blair Oaks at 4:26. Rodriguez pinned Owensville’s Logan Bailey at 1:21 in round three.

Nolan Center finished in seventh place for 285. In round one, he was pinned by Owensville’s Kohl Grannemann at 3:04. Center pinned Dexter’s Noah Bruyette in twenty four seconds in round two. In round three, Center was pinned in twenty nine seconds by Hayden Steadman of Blair Oaks. Osage’s Tanner Gardener pinned Center in round five at 3:27. Center claimed seventh place when he pinned Ben Huynh of Missouri Military Academy at 2:17.
