Twelve Eagles Selected For All-Area Football Team
Twelve Sullivan Eagle football players earned spots on the 2023-24 Missourian All-Area Team.
Senior Franky Erxleben was named Offensive Player of the Year, first-team running back and third-team linebacker. Last year, he led the Eagles with 19 touchdowns, 118 points, 1619 rushing yards and 1728 overall. The senior also had 109 receiving yards on 11 catches and two touchdown receptions.
Robert York received an honorable mention for the quarterback position. He threw for 1220 passing yards and 17 touchdowns with a 124 passer rating. The junior was also a dynamic scrambler who recorded 442 rushing yards and ran for five touchdowns.
The offensive linemen selected were Rhett Cox for the first team, Nolan Center for the third team and Cayden Thacker for an honorable mention.
The defensive linemen who received All-Area honors were Jeremiah Rodriguez for the second team and Kane Strehl for the third team.
Seth Valley was named a second-team wide receiver and defensive back. On offense, the junior tallied a team-high 589 receiving yards and nine touchdowns.
Colton Brendel made the first team for linebackers, and Dayton Skaggs was awarded a second-team spot.
Dominic Ransom was named a third-team defensive back.
Kicker Wyatt Kraus received an honorable mention.
