Track And Field Dominates State Tournament
Sullivan had three track and field athletes wrap up their seasons at the Class 4 State Tournament. They competed against the best high schoolers in Missouri at the state capital from May 30 to 31.
Robert York II took third in the javelin, clinching the all-state podium in his final meet as an Eagle. He threw the spear for 58.08 meters in his third trip to Jefferson City. The senior finished second in the javelin last year and placed ninth as a sophomore.
Jayson Summers capped off his high school career with seventh place in the 300-meter hurdles. The senior received all-state honors in his first time at Adkins Stadium. He set a personal record of 39.74 seconds in his final round and 40.21 in his first the day before.
Karlee Head landed twelfth in the long jump for her second time at state. The sophomore leaped to a distance of 4.94 meters in her event.
