Three Eagles Finish Great Seasons At State

Abby Peterson, Wyatt Kraus and Jaiden Hodges competed at Jefferson City on Friday and Saturday of last week.

Hodges finished in fifth place in the girl’s discus throw. Peterson placed third in the high jump and Kraus walked away in 15th place.

Peterson finished in third place in the girls’ high jump with final results of 1.58 and 5-2 ¼ and six points. The championship was won by Ja’Nyiah Davis of Raytown South. Her final results were 1.64, 5-4 ½ and ten points. She was followed by Faith Atkins of McCluer North with final results of 1.62, 5-3 3/4, and eight points.

The winner of the boys’ 110 Hurdles was Luke Noland of Kearney with a time of 14.35. He was followed by Rhett Foster of Smithville with a time of 14.37. Devon Walker of Parkway Central finished in third place with a time of 14.77. Kraus finished 15th with a final time of 16.77.

The girls’ discus throw was won by Reagan Kimrey of Pleasant Hill. Her best throw was 145-10 and she secured ten points. She was followed by Kali Brown of Smithville with a 128-9 and eight points. In third place was Dailynn VanDeren of Bolivar. She secured a 126-8 and six points. The fourth place spot was occupied by Stevenette Samuels of Jefferson City with a 121-6 and five points. Hodges finished in fifth place with 116-2 and four points.
