Sullivan Soccer Defeated In Two Games This Week

The Sullivan Eagles fell in two games this week. These were the first two games the Eagles played since their fourth place finish in Lebanon. They were home on Tuesday and were defeated by Washington, 7-1. Sullivan traveled to St. Louis United on Thursday and lost on the road, 4-1.

Washington

When the Blue Jays came to town, it seemed like the game would be a positive. Goalkeeper, Kaden Smith, made two good stops. Washington drew first blood with a little less than 38 minutes in the first half. The Blue Jays faked Smith and connected on the right side. Over the next six minutes, Washington had plenty of scoring opportunities but couldn't connect. Cole Click of Washington netted a score with a little over 28 and half minutes left in the first half. Washington then extended their lead with eleven and a half minutes left in the first half.

In the second half, Sullivan scored their lone goal. Zechariah Beagle sailed one into the net. He was assisted by Josiah Tanner. Not even a minute later, the Blue Jays connected on another goal. This was after Head Coach Brian Immekus decided to put Matthew Hamblin in as goalkeeper. He saved a ball from seeing the back of the net, but another ball came through 20 seconds later. Washington connected on two more goals to secure the win at 7-1.

St. Louis United

Sullivan traveled to Wildwood and was defeated by St. Louis United, 4-1.

All goals in the game were made during the first half.

Smith served as the goalkeeper for all 80 minutes of the game. He saved the ball from seeing the net nine times. He gave up only four goals.

Tanner, Beagle, and Wyatt Kraus each shot the ball twice. Trevor Alexander and Eli Peregoy shot the ball once. Beagle netted the only Sullivan goal.
