Sullivan Flies Over Cuba On Senior Night

The bats came alive on a cold and windy Wednesday night.

Sullivan bounced back after two devastating losses earlier in the week and surfed past Cuba 12-3.

The Eagles were phenomenal from the start of the game when they sat down Cuba three batters in three outs.

When Sullivan came to bat, Gavin Schmidt smacked a line drive to the outfield on the first pitch for a double.

Schmidt would come around to score on a hit by Dayton Skaggs.

Trey Behrens drilled a ball to the outfield to continue the hit parade.

Lane Blankenship singled on a line drive and Behrens scored on a throw that went over Cuba's catcher's head, giving the Eagles a 3-0 lead.

The bats came alive again at the bottom of the third inning. Tyler Hopen was the first batter to find himself on base and Jordan Dicus landed on first after an error made by Cuba.

Seth Valley singled and added another RBI.

Cambrian Koch split the outfielders on a line drive and another run was scored. Valley found himself around the bases when he scored on another pitch out of the opposing catcher's reach.

Cuba tried to answer back in their next at bat and it started with a single.

Another Wildcat landed on first and a batter hit a double to make the score 7-2.

Sullivan tacked on more runs in the fifth.

Cuba made a pitching change and after an out, Valley was on first again. Koch got another big double and RBI to score. He then scored on a wild pitch.

Schmidt singled on a line drive and added another RBI. The Wildcats brought in another relief thrower on the mound and Skaggs was drilled by the pitch right away.

Hopen raked in another RBI when he landed on first and Behrens was the last to score on another wild pitch.

Koch was the standout who went 2-3. Gawer recorded five strikeouts on the day.
