Sullivan Comes Up Short In Two Home Games

Pacific put up a good fight and Sullivan had a good defensive plan that they executed, but the Eagles fell to their conference rivals 2-0.

The Eagles changed up their formation against Dixon and played more offense. Sullivan shot their season high and fell 5-4 to the Bulldogs in double overtime.

Pacific

The Indians came to Sullivan with a record of 6-7 on the season. Pacific had shut out North County the night before in Pacific, 2-0.

“They did get their shots, but they weren’t great shots,” said Head Coach Brian Immekus. “The defensive part kind of worked. We just weren’t able to create offense.”

Pacific scored two goals early in the first half and held on to the win. Sullivan's defense held Pacific from scoring in the second half.

Matthew Hamblin played the first 10 minutes of the game and saved the ball twice from seeing the back of the net.

Kaden Smith finished out the game as goalkeeper. He only gave up the two goals in the first half but saved the ball 12 times.

Scoring stats were unavailable at press time.

Dixon

Sullivan improved tremendously just later in the week. The Eagles were much more aggressive with their shooting. They took 20 shots, but still came up short.

The first half started on a quick note with Zechariah Beagle getting a fast break towards the goal. Eli Peregoy did the same thing but missed the goal. Dixon drew first blood when Owen Jacobs scored a goal.

Sullivan kept up the offensive pressure and made some good passes that forced Dixon’s goalkeeper, Waylon Dalton, to make a save.

Smith worked hard to save the net a few times. Beagle had good ball control and launched a ball over the net.

Dixon’s Nolan Williams sent a ball in the net with a little under 21 minutes in the first half. Almost two minutes later freshman Carsen Dudley delivered a ball in the net and Sullivan was on the board.

The Eagles tied up the game when Aidan Lawrence secured a goal on a penalty kick with a little over a minute left.

In the second half, Dixon’s Jacobs broke the tie within the first three minutes of the half. Beagle made a stunning pass to Cambrian Koch and he head butted the ball but it went over the net.

Beagle controlled the ball again and on a fast break and a juke he sailed the ball into the net. He secured another goal in same quick fashion and Sullivan was up by one with less than 30 minutes left. Dixon tied the game with less than 14 minutes left when a ball went into the goal off of Sullivan’s knee. Dixon secured the win in double overtime, 5-4.

Beagle, Dudley, and Lawrence had the goals. Beagle also shot the ball three times. Dudley shot the ball five times. Koch led in shots with six. Wyatt Kraus, Josiah Tanner, and Dock Thomure each shot the ball once. Peregoy shot the ball three times.

Smith played all 100 minutes as Sullivan’s goalkeeper. He only gave up five goals and saved the ball 12 times.
