Sullivan’s 32 Shots Not Enough To Beat Saints

After coming off of losses against Wright City and Laquey, Sullivan faced their third loss of the week against St. Paul Lutheran in Farmington with a score of 2-1.

Despite the tough week, head coach Brian Immekus believes that his team is inches away from success. “We just gotta keep pushing and pushing in the same direction. Eventually, we’re going to catch some breaks that haven’t been so easy to come by lately. . . If we start pulling in opposite directions or pointing fingers, we’re in trouble,” he explained.

Sullivan held a 3-8 record after the defeat against St. Paul Lutheran.

The Eagles and Saints were tied 1-1 at halftime, with Zechariah Beagle scoring Sullivan’s only goal of the match.

St. Paul Lutheran secured the game-winner in the second half, resulting in a defeat for Sullivan.

Sullivan managed to make an impressive 32 shots in the match but would sometimes shoot a little too high or hit the crossbar.

“We need to keep getting the number of shots we were getting last week, but we have to figure out how to finish on those opportunities,” Immekus stated. “It may come down to whether or not we can convert a set piece or two like a corner kick or a free kick.”

Beagle scored the only goal for Sullivan and also recorded 6 shots and 2 points.

Cambrian Koch attempted 6 shots, while Luke Herron had 4.

Josiah Tanner accumulated 2 shots, an assist and a point.

Carsen Dudley collected 3 shots and 2 corners.

Wyatt Kraus and Kaden Smith each made 3 shots.

Zaiden Marler attempted 2 shots and a corner.

Mason Mertz had 2 shots and Dock Thomure made 1.
