Six Eagles Wrestlers Advance To Day 2 Of State Meet
Six Sullivan Eagles wrestlers survived the first day of the Class 2 state meet at Mizzou Arena.
Eli Peregoy (126) lost in the first round to Pleasant Hill’s Dalton Coe, but rebounded with a 5-2 decision against Nevada’s Mokey Dawn in wrestle backs.
Dominic Ransom (132) defeated Odessa’s Jase Todd by a 3-2 decision.
Ethan Hurt (145) took a 5-3 decision against Easton Byrne of Reeds Spring.
Colton Brendel lost to Pleasant Hill’s Ryan Volland by fall in the first round, but defeated Macon’s Bodie Began by major decision in wrestle backs.
Ty Shetley (160) pinned Macon’s Isaac Kauffmann in 1:11.
Jordan Rice (195) pinned Marshall’s Gabe Pineda in 2:37.
Carter Blankenship (106) and Adam Peregoy (138) had their seasons cut short.
Blankenship lost to Hallsville’s Paxton Martin and Odessa’s Brady Jones.
Peregoy fell to Helias’ Carson Hayes and Kirksville’s Lane Patterson.
