SHS Spring Sports Start Next Week

Sullivan High School spring sports—baseball, girls’ soccer, track & field, and boys’ golf—are right around the corner. Read next week’s edition for their season preview articles.

Baseball

The varsity baseball jamboree will be hosted in Sullivan on Tuesday, Mar. 12, from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. The two other teams participating are Orchard Farm and Wright City.

The Eagles’ regular season will kick off at home with the Four Rivers Conference tournament from Mar. 15-20.

The Eagles will then play Valley Park at home on Thursday, Mar. 21. The first pitch for varsity is at 4:30 p.m., and JV is at 6:30 p.m. The day after, there will be a home JV round-robin tournament, and varsity will have theirs on Mar. 23.

Girls’ Soccer

Girls’ soccer will open their season at the Warrenton Classic. Their first match is scheduled for Friday, Mar. 15, at 5 p.m. against St. Clair. The following day, they will clash with St. Louis Christian at 11 a.m. and Elsberry at 3 p.m.

Following that, the Lady Eagles will compete at the Lutheran St. Charles Tournament from Mar. 18 to 21.

After an away game in Pacific on Monday, Mar. 25, Sullivan will host Laquey on the 26th and North County on the 28th. All three games will kick off at 5 p.m.

Track & Field

Sullivan’s first track and field meet will be a home Early Season Quad, beginning at 3 p.m. on Monday, Mar. 18, for both the varsity boys’ and girls’ teams.

Their following competitions will be the Festus McCullough-Douglass Invitational on Saturday, Mar. 23 at 9 a.m., the St. Francis Borgia Open on the 26th at 4 p.m., the Union Open on the 28th at 4 p.m. and the Washington Pentathlon on the 30th at 10 a.m.

Boys’ Golf

The boys’ golf team will tee off first in Hermann on Tuesday, Mar. 19, at 4 p.m. and then compete on the 25th at the Union tournament from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
