Scholar Bowl Caps Off Season At Districts

Scholar Bowl finished its season at the Class 5 District 3 tournament on Saturday, Apr. 13, at North County High School. The Eagles fell 370-290 to Holt in the semifinals, and Washington won the championship. 

Sullivan’s varsity squad finished third in their district and placed second in their conference behind Hermann. Their JV team retained its title as the Four Rivers champion for the eighth consecutive year.

Varsity junior Eli Young and senior Luan Nguyen were selected for the All-District team. Head coach Jason Loy praised Nguyen for taking on the reins of captain in his final season. “[He] made an impressive transition from supporting player to team leader and captain and was the perfect positive, encouraging presence to bring along the next generation,” Loy stated.
