Schmidt Named All-Conference

Gavin Schmidt was named to the 2022 Four Rivers all-conference baseball first team.

He also was named for the all-district team.

Tyler Hopen and Drake Gawer made the all-district team as well.

Schmidt finished with 19 hits. His season high was three hits in one game and he scored four runs in the same game.

Hopen had 16 hits and scored 10 run. Gawer's ability on the mound is what stood out.

He recorded 27 strikeouts on the mound.

His season high was seven against Hermann.

Jack Meyer of Pacific won player of the year.

Meyer, Weston Kulbrick, Ethan Simpson, Ethan Broser, and Trevor Klund of Pacific were named to the first team.

Gavin Mabe, Kayden Motley, Will Mentz, and Coleton Anderson of Union were announced for the first team.

Parker Anderson and Kenny Hoener represented Hermann on the first team.

Brendon Pearson of St. James and Trevor Klund of St. Clair made the first team.

Gavin Loague and Derek Brandt reached the first team.

St. Clair's Anthony Broeker and Joey Rego made the all-conference second team.

Carter Myers and Matt Reincke from Pacific was on the second team.

Aiden Moffet of St. James and Hermann's JJ Mundwiller made the second team.

Dominic Grigaitis of Owensville claimed a spot on the second team.

Charlie Roth, William Hellman, and Mitchell Meyer of New Haven earned positions on the second team.

Union's Ardell Young and Marshall Gebert rounded out the second team.
