Purvis And Dudley Set To Tee Off At State Tourney
Sullivan’s leading golfers, Easton Purvis and Carsen Dudley, will take a swing against the top Class 3 competition at Springfield’s Rivercut Golf Course from May 13-14. Both punched their ticket to state after strong finishes at the Four Rivers Conference and Class 3 District 1 tournaments this past week.
Conference
The Eagles landed fifth with 242 points at the Four Rivers meet held at Union’s Birch Creek Golf Club on Monday, Apr. 29.
Hermann won the conference championship with 211 points, St. James (226) took second, Union (227) finished third, Pacific (234) followed in fourth, Owensville (245) placed fifth, and St. Clair (264) rounded out the seven teams.
Dudley was selected to the first-team all-conference after shooting a 56.
Purvis earned a spot on the second team with a score of 57.
Districts
Sullivan competed at the Class 3 District 1 tournament at Crown Pointe Golf Club in Farmington on Thursday, May 2.
State qualifiers Purvis finished 10th in districts with a score of 84, and Dudley landed 20th after shooting a 90.
Sullivan’s other golfers who ranked were Spencer Thomure at 53rd, Braylon Strauser at 54th and Chase Black at 68th.
