Purvis And Dudley Lead Sullivan’s Golfers In Week Six
The Eagles pushed through a busy week on the course as they played their final rounds before conference and districts.
Union Matches
Sullivan battled the Wildcats at home on Monday, Apr. 28. Union’s varsity team edged past the Eagles 171-195, and their junior varsity boys also won 220-270.
Easton Purvis led the match with a 38 and earned a medal for Sullivan.
Carsen Dudley carded a 40, followed by Spencer Thomure (57), Chase Black (60) and William Dean (63).
Trenton Ahrens led Sullivan’s junior varsity squad with a 63.
Jackson Woolley shot a 67, Logan Podner posted a 68 and Robert Garrett hit a 72.
St. Clair/St. James Tri-Meet
The following Tuesday, Sullivan finished as the runner-up at a tri-meet hosted by St. Clair. They tallied a 189, behind the champion St. James (171) and in front of the hosting Bulldogs (212).
Dudley was the top scorer for the Eagles with a 43. He hit 28 under a total par of 71.
Purvis came in at 45, Thomure fired a 50, Braylon Strauser swung a 51, while Black finished with a 53.
Franklin County Cup
The Eagles landed fourth with a score of 344 at the Franklin County Cup. The tournament was held at the Meramec Lakes Golf Course in St. Clair on May 2.
Dudley won the individual title and recorded a 74.
Purvis logged an 88, Thomure and Strauser tied for 91, while Black rounded out the rankings at 93.
