Post 18 Conquers Owensville

Dayton Skaggs tallied four hits to help Sullivan Post 18 succeed  on Monday, against Owensville in a junior legion game, 18-4.

Skaggs singled in the first and third. He bombed triples in the fifth and sixth innings.

The scores started in the top of the second when Lucas Parsons was walked. Parsons stole second right before Grant Halmick was hit by the pitch.

A run was scored after a sacrifice fly and Owensville tied everything up at their next at bat.

Sullivan broke the tie at their next at bat when Isiah Skaggs hit a double.

After a strike out, Dayton Skaggs hit a single line drive and Isiah advanced. Beau Beckett singled on a hard ground ball that scored in Isiah Skaggs and advanced Dayton Skaggs.

Skaggs was then scored by a sacrifice fly. Dustin Lappe scored Beckett in before there was three outs.

In the top of the fifth and sixth inning, Post 18 started scoring in bunches.

Alex Toews singled and Dayton Skaggs hit him right home after a triple. Beckett tripled right after and brought in Skaggs.

Parsons singled and brought in Beckett. Parsons was scored by Kaden Smith.

Owensville tried to bridge the gap and scored two runs but Sullivan came alive at the top of the sixth again.

Toews singled and Skaggs tripled again. Skaggs scored on a wild pitch and Beckett doubled on a fly ball to center. Nate McReynolds singled on a fly ball that drove in Beckett.

Lappe singled and advanced McReynolds. Grant Halmick singled on a ground ball that scored McReynolds. After two walks, Lappe scored. Post 18 scored four more times and the final score was 18-4.

Dayton Skaggs was 4-4 on the day and Beckett went 3-4. Parsons was the winning pitcher and had four strikeouts.

Sullivan had a total of seven strikeouts from three different pitchers.
