Pacific Post 320 Defeats Sullivan In Late Innings

Pacific Post 320 scored six runs in the bottom of the sixth inning Monday to complete a comeback over the Post 18 juniors and win 7-3.

Sullivan led Pacific 3-1 until Post 320 unloaded.

Grant Halmick was the starting pitcher for Sullivan and he only gave up one run on four hits.

He recorded three strikeouts for Sullivan.

Pacific was the first to score in the bottom of the second. Ramirez hit a ground ball and reached on an error. He advanced on a ground out.

Kulick hit a ground ball and reached on an error that scored Ramirez.

Sullivan fought right back in their next at bat. Kaden Smith singled on a ground ball. After an out, Smith advanced to second and Dayton Skaggs hit him home on a fly ball double.

In the top of the fourth, Sullivan capitalized on Pacific’s new pitching change. Anden Carey singled on a line drive to center then advanced to second on an error. Lucas Parsons was walked and Isiah Skaggs hit a successful sacrifice bunt to advance both of the runners.

Smith was hit by the pitch and the bases were loaded. Dayton Skaggs singled on a fly ball to right and he scored Parsons and Carey.

Cambrian Koch came in for the bottom of the fifth to relieve Halmick.

Post 320 started a rally when Matthes reached on a dropped third strike.

He then advanced to second on a wild pitch, followed by a walk.

Lane singled on a fly ball to right and the bases were loaded.

Matthes was scored on a wild pitch and Covert was walked to load the bases again.

Another run was walked in and after a strikeout another run was scored on a single.

Two more runs were scored before the last two outs were recorded.

Koch finished with five strikeouts and gave up four hits. Carey went 2-3 and Dayton Skaggs went 3-4. Sullivan had seven hits but only secured three runs.
