Lewis, Sappington Named All-Conference

McKinney Selected As Coach Of The Year

Seniors Kyle Lewis and Blaine Sappington were named to the Four Rivers all-conference basketball team.

Lewis was a first-team selection and Sappington second-team.

Head coach Dino McKinney led the Eagles to the district championship and runner-up in the Four Rivers Conference. His leadership and coaching helped Sullivan sit down the No. 1 seed St. James and made him the recipient of the Four Rivers Conference Coach of the Year honor. 

Lewis earned a first team all-conference spot. He finished the season by averaging seven points and nearly five assists per game.

He dropped a season-high 17 points against Owensville.

Kaden Motley of Union was named the Four Rivers Player of the Year. Motley's teammate Colin Gerbel of Union was also named to the first team. 

Parker Anderson of Hermann earned a spot on the first team and so did Quinn Blackburn of Pacific. Sam Scheer of New Haven and Chris Boone of St. James also earbed spots on the team. 

Bryce Payne of Owensville finished out the first team. The whole team but Payne was a unanimous selection. 

Blaine Sappington earned a spot on the all-conference second team. The senior averaged eight points and four rebounds per game. 

Sappington was joined by sophomore Ryan Rappert of Union. 

Blake Redburn and Peyton Gruver of St. James also earned spots on the second team. Carter Short, also a sophomore, of St. Clair joined the second team. 

Conner Coffey of Hermann and Will Lauth of Owensville were announced to the second team. 

Jack Meyer of Pacific finished out the second team roster. 

Union won the Four Rivers Conference championship with a 6-1 record. Hermann, St. James, and Sullivan all tied for second place with a 5-2 record. 

Pacific claimed fifth with a 3-4 record and was followed by Owensville with a 2-5 record. New Haven and St. Clair finished out the conference with a 1-6 record.
