Lady Eagles Fall 48-31 To St. James On Senior Night

The varsity Lady Eagles (5-14) struggled in a 48-31 loss to St. James (15-5) on Senior Night on Monday, Feb. 5.

Along with Sullivan’s 2024 graduates, Lady Tiger seniors Emily Recker and Kendall Costoplos also got to shine on Monday night, reaching 1,000-point milestones on Sullivan’s court. St. James fans appeared in waves to see both players eclipse the mark.

In her first time playing for the varsity Lady Eagles, freshman guard Sydney Montee scored 5 points with a 2-4 field goal ratio against St. James.

Freshman guard Ella Kirk, who has been making waves for the JV team, collected 2 points with a 1-2 field-goal ratio and a rebound.

Freshman guard Olivia Barton also saw more varsity time, tallying two assists and a rebound.

Junior forward Cora Shetley and senior guard Hayli Venable led Sullivan with six points.

Shetley pulled off seven rebounds, while Venable went 3-6 on field goals and grabbed an assist.

Junior guard Molly Lohden had a team-high nine rebounds. She also racked up five points, two assists, a steal and a 2-2 free throw ratio.

Freshman guard Karlee Head led Sullivan with three steals. She also picked up 5 points, a 3-4 free throw ratio and three rebounds.

Freshman guard Kynlee Peterson recorded 2 points.

Senior guard Raegan Johnson made two rebounds.

Senior guard Delaney George had a rebound.

Before the Senior Night celebration and varsity game, St. James swept the JV girls’ basketball team 41-19.
