Lady Eagles Claw Their Way To 7th In Peoples Bank Holiday Classic

The girls basketball team (3-5) finished in 7th place at their home Peoples Bank Holiday Classic, which was hosted from Dec. 11-15. They lost their first round against Borgia (3-2) 51-34, then soared over Miller Career in a 59-27 victory but failed to beat Steelville in the Consolation Final as they lost 40-37.

Hayli Venable was selected to the All-Tournament Team for her star-studded performance. In the Holiday Classic, she executed 35 points, 11 steals, 9 rebounds, 4 assists and a 10-29 field goal ratio.

Molly Lohden delivered 29 points, 14 rebounds, 8 steals and 7 assists. She went 11-34 on field goals.

Cora Shetley pulled off 17 points, 13 rebounds and an assist. She had a 6-11 field goal ratio.

Karlee Head collected 14 rebounds, 12 points and 2 assists. She went 4-7 on two-pointers.

Kynlee Peterson had 14 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists and a 4-7 two-point field goal ratio.

Delaney George made 6 points, 5 assists, 4 rebounds and 2 steals, as well as going 2-7 on field goals.

Avery Merkel racked up 6 points, 5 rebounds and 3 steals while going 2-6 on field goals.

Raegan Johnson collected 6 points, 3 rebounds, 2 steals, an assist and a 3-10 field goal ratio.

Rayna Claus grabbed 8 rebounds, 3 assists, 3 steals and 2 points.

Olivia Barton picked up 3 points and a rebound, with a 1-1 field goal ratio.
