Goly Set To Join Missouri Baptist Football

Alexander Goly was a dominant force on the football field for Sullivan.

Goly has signed to Missouri Baptist University to continue his football career.

He shined his sophomore year and just progressed from there. Goly blasted for 153 rushing yards. He racked up a total of four touchdowns on the season and his longest rush of the year was a 14-yard run.

“I chose Missouri Baptist because I really like their school and I love their location,” said Goly about his choice. Missouri Baptist is in Creve Coeur, which is roughly an hour from his hometown. “I am most excited that they are a fairly new program and that I could be a part of history for their program.”

Goly said other schools he was looking at were Avila University and Westminster College.

His junior year of football, Goly more than doubled his rushing yards. He surged past his opponents for 361 yards. He recorded three touchdowns and racked up 109 yards in one game against Festus. Goly received the ball as well and added another 93 yards.

“I consider my biggest strength as being a team leader,” Goly said. “Being able to hold my teammates accountable and push them to their limits.”

Goly’s senior year was when he turned unstoppable. He racked up an incredible 10 touchdowns in the year. He more than doubled his rushing yards again, finishing with 782. He added 144 receiving yards as well.

Despite his incredible accolades, Goly is still humble and knows where he needs to improve.

“I need to improve on my speed and accept that I will fail,” Goly said.

“My best high school memory on the field was scoring my longest touchdown against Borgia,” Goly said with a smile. “It was one of the first ones back from my injury and got us back in the game.”

That touchdown was during his sophomore year and he ran the ball 96 yards in the 24-21 defeat. Sullivan fell by a heartbreaking field goal in overtime.
