Girls Wrestling Finishes Third At Four Rivers Tournament

The Lady Eagles competed at St. Clair on Tuesday. Reya Bristow, Dorie Richardson and Jade Studdard were all crowned champions in their weight class. Sullivan finished with 152 points and tied with Union. St. Clair won the tournament with 253 points. Owensville finished in second with 158 points. Pacific got fifth with 67 and St. James got sixth with 60.

Karen Dietzler represented Sullivan in the 120 class. She was pinned in round one by Lindsay Rampani of St. Clair at fifty three seconds. Dietzler received byes in her next two rounds. In round four, she was pinned by Owensville’s Elizabeth Adams at 1:15 and received a bye in the final round.

Jade Studdard was the champion of the 130 class. She pinned Torie Hudson of St. James in round one in fifty one seconds. She received byes in the next three rounds and won by a 6-1 decision over Audrey DeClue to become the champion.

Sadie Altimus finished in second place for 135. She pinned Union’s Trysten Pope in thirty one seconds in round one. Altimus received byes in the next three rounds and was pinned by Jossie Hopkins of St. Clair in round five at 1:05.

Dorie Richardson won the championship for 140. She pinned Peyton Dunn of St. Clair at 5:38 in round one. In round two, Richardson pinned Owensville’s McKenzy Echols at 4:19. She received a bye in round three and in round four she pinned Elisa Bierman of St. James in twelve seconds. Richardson won the championship when she pinned Union’s Gracie Straatmann at 2:45.

Maria Schatzl competed for 145. In round one, she was defeated by a 9-8 decision by Hannah Thacker of St. Clair. Schatzl pinned Union’s Ashley Wright at 1:09 in round two. She received byes in the next two rounds and was defeated by a Dani Gullet.

Katie Summers was in the 155 class. She was pinned in the first round by Molly Brown of St. Clair at 1:45. Summers received byes in the next two rounds and was pinned by Owensville’s Josie Gerlemann at 1:07 in round four. Summers got a bye in round five.

Ruby Daily represented Sullivan in the 170 division. She received a bye in the first round and was pinned in thirty seven seconds in round two by Union’s Gianna Schreck. Daily was pinned by Owensville’s Bailee Dare in twenty three seconds in round three and received a bye in round four. In round five, She was pinned by Kaitlynn Van De Wile of St. Clair at 1:50.

Reya Bristow won the championship for 235. She received byes in the first three rounds and pinned Cheyannah Rincon’Campos of St. Clair in fifty nine seconds in round four. In the championship round, Bristow pinned Madison Lewis at 1:09.
