Girls Golf Finishes Strong In Home Opener

Girls golf teed off their new season at a home tri-meet on Thursday, Sept. 5. The course had a par of 71.

Sullivan’s varsity team finished second with 368 points, while Union (363) took first and Pacific (397) rounded out at third.

Union golfers Lilly Koch and Ashlyn Blankenship were at the top of the leaderboard. Both tied for 52 points. Izzy Peterson (Sullivan) took third with a score of 53, followed by Cora Stotler (Pacific) with 56 and Maggie Zweifel (Sullivan) with 60.

Olivia Barton (61) finished third for Sullivan’s golfers, followed by Alyssa Beers (62). Rayna Claus and Liberty Koch both tied at 66.

The junior varsity Lady Eagles ended Thursday with 222 points. They beat Pacific, who scored 280.

Claire Yoest (53) scored the lowest for Sullivan, followed by Alleyah Sanders (55), Lillie Craig (56) and Kennedy Kloos (58).

Sullivan participated in the Washington Tournament at the Wolf Hollow Golf Course on Monday, Sept. 9. Stats were unavailable at press time.

The Lady Eagles play Wright City at home on Tuesday, Sept. 17 at 4 p.m.

On the following day, they will face St. James on the road on Wednesday, Sept. 18 at 4 p.m.
