Girls Fall 40-24 To Bearcats In Conference Showdown

The girls’ basketball team (5-12) could not soar ahead of Hermann (13-7) in a 40-24 conference loss on Monday, Jan. 29.

Sullivan went 9-41 on field goals and 4-4 on free throws against a tough Lady Bearcat defense. They also tallied up 24 rebounds, six steals and four assists.

Hayli Venable had a team-high 8 points, going 3-5 on two-pointers and 2-2 on free throws. She also recorded a rebound, an assist and a steal.

Avery Merkel was the second-leading scorer for Sullivan, with 6 points, a flawless 2-2 free throw ratio and four rebounds.

Kynlee Peterson grabbed five points with a 2-4 field goal ratio, three rebounds and a steal.

Molly Lohden got three rebounds, three assists and two steals.

Delaney George broke away with three points and two steals.
