Girls Basketball Upsets Jays In First Game Back

Sullivan came out to play their best ball against their first opponent in nearly a month. The Lady Eagles (5-5) began January with a 50-43 upset over Jefferson-Festus (7-7) on Jan. 14.

The varsity girls intended to face Salem and Crocker a week earlier, but inclement weather postponed the games. Despite losing matches and practices, Sullivan still brewed up a storm against the Lady Blue Jays.

Head coach Jordan Flora was proud to see his team continue their three-victory streak. “It was a great road win for us, especially being our first game back after break,” he explained. “We have started to shoot the ball much better [in] the last few games, and we are excited for the second half of the season to get started! This team is extremely unselfish, and our ball movement and confidence in each other has made us a much better basketball team.”
