Gavin And Gabe Dace Sign With Concordia University Chicago To Pursue Football

All-star twin brothers Gavin and Gabe Dace are signing with Concordia University Chicago to continue their football careers. Gabe will be playing quarterback and Gavin will be a linebacker for the Cougars. They both excelled at football and basketball during their four years of high school. After leading the football team to their first state semifinals in fourteen years, they will now head to the collegiate level.

In their senior year, the Daces led the Eagles football team to an impressive 11-3 record and drove them deep into the postseason.

Gavin was an incredible linebacker and one of the most feared players on the field. In 2022, he made 67 tackles and recovered 5 fumbles. Gavin was also unstoppable as a wide receiver, catching 280 passes for a total of 445 yards and scoring 30 points.

He has been selected to the All-State First Team, All-District First Team, All-Conference First Team and All-Area Second Team in football.

Gabe was the starting quarterback and demonstrated great pocket awareness and mobility to maneuver past defenders. He had a 63.19% throwing percentage, 1359 yards, 14 touchdowns and a 119.186 passer rating. Gabe also played as a defensive back.

He made the Second Team All-Conference, First Team All-District, Second Team All-Area and All-District for football.

Gavin and Gabe were also outstanding on the court, leading the boys’ basketball team to a 16-12 record.

Gavin was an excellent forward and guard. On defense, he grabbed 125 rebounds, made 101 assists and had 35 steals. On offense, he scored a total of 259 points and had a 52.2 field goal percentage.

He was selected as All-District Honorable Mention, All-Area and All-Conference First Team for basketball.

Gabe played forward and guard as well. He collected 96 rebounds, made 96 assists and had 45 steals. On the offensive side, he scored 154 points, averaging 6.4 points per game.

The Dace brothers started competing at a very young age. Gavin and Gabe followed in their father, Jarrett Dace’s footsteps, being raised with a love for everything related to sports. Their dad had coached them for football  and basketball from 5th to 8th grade and pushed them towards future success.

They learned how to execute game plans, outsmart their opponents and motivate themselves to always be better.

Gavin and Gabe Dace will now continue their legacy in front of a larger audience at Concordia University Chicago. They have undoubtedly left their mark at Sullivan on both the field and the court, defining themselves as two brothers with unbreakable chemistry. Their love for the game pushed them to lead Sullivan all the way to the semifinals. The Daces will take the Cougars to new heights, just as they did for the Eagles.
