Eagles Volleyball Out Of Luck Against New Haven Shamrocks

Lady Eagles volleyball had a close match against New Haven, but Sullivan came up short in the last three sets. The Lady Eagles won their first set 25-15, but lost the remaining ones with scores of 25-23, 25-22 and 25-21.

The last time Sullivan’s volleyball team lost to New Haven was in 2017 and they have enjoyed a 5-game winning streak against them since then.

Sophomore Ava Todd has become a crucial part of this team, putting up a team-high of 26 assists and 12 points against Rolla.

Ava Blankenship continued her dominance with 32 attacks, 17 kills and 7 blocks.

Emily Clonts posted 28 attacks, 10 points, 5 kills, 4 aces and 2 blocks.

Abby Record contributed with 19 attacks, 5 kills, 4 points, 1 block and 1 ace.

Raegan Johnson had 18 attacks, 9 points, 8 assists, 3 kills, an ace and a block.

Stevi Saling racked up 25 attacks, 7 kills and 2 blocks.

The Lady Eagles won the first set, 25-15, against New Haven. Saling secured the 24th point with a kill and Record sealed the game with a winning ace.

The second set was a nail-biter until the end, but the fired-up Shamrocks beat Sullivan, 25-23. With Clonts and Saling teaming up on blocks and Blankenship executing kills, they helped take the lead at times, but it wasn’t enough to secure a victory.

New Haven defeated the Lady Eagles 25-22 in another close match and then 25-21 in the fourth set. Sullivan struggled to dig back the ball in crucial moments.
