Eagles Soccer Finish Fourth At Lebanon
The Sullivan Eagles soccer team started their season in great fashion at their annual Lebanon tournament. The Eagles started the season with a loss but rebounded in the next game against Greenwood. Sullivan finished the tournament with a loss against Lebanon and will return home on Tuesday to face Washington with a 1-2 record.
West Plains
The Eagles came up short against West Plains at the Friday season opener.
Sullivan gave up goals in the first and second half and fell, 2-0.
Kaden Smith was the goalkeeper for Sullivan and he gave up the two goals but had seven saves.
Sullivan only had two shots on goal and they were both made by Zechariah Beagle.
Greenwood
Sullivan started their Saturday on a more positive note with a victory over Greenwood, 3-0.
This time Sullivan had eight shots on goal.
Trevor Alexander, Abram Denney, Eli Peregoy, Josiah Tanner, Dock Thomure, and Beagle each shot the ball. Alexander, Tanner, and Thomure scored the three goals in the game. Beagle picked up an assist and Peregoy secured two assists.
Smith saved the ball five times from the back of the net.
Lebanon
Lebanon finished off Sullivan on Saturday, 3-0.
Sullivan recorded four shots on goal though. Wyatt Kraus, Denney, Peregoy, and Thomure each had plenty of scoring opportunities but couldn’t connect at the back of the net.
Smith was the goalie again, given up three goals yet saving four.
