Eagles Soccer Bounces Back Against Dixon
The Eagles (7-9) beat the brakes off of Dixon (5-6) in an 8-2 victory on Thursday, Oct. 10.
After winning four consecutive games for the first time in seven years, the Eagles had found themselves in a losing skid. Sullivan dropped three road games in five days and needed to bounce back at home.
Kaden Smith came in hot with two goals in the first 15 minutes. The senior captain achieved his highest scoring total in a single game. Head coach Brian Immekus named him the Man of the Match afterward.
Luke Herron fired in the third strike to give Sullivan an unanswered lead going into halftime. He currently leads the Eagles this season with eight goals.
Twenty seconds into the second period, Zaiden Marler notched his second goal of the year.
Zechariah Beagle followed Smith’s steps, firing two strikes into the net. He did so in the span of two minutes, head-butting one score in.
Right afterward, freshman Ben Tanner recorded his fourth goal of the season.
Aiden Lawrence delivered the knockout punch against Dixon. The junior defender made his first goal in two years. His last score came against the same Bulldogs.
Nick Lofgreen and Logan Podner logged their first career assists.
Carsen Dudley led Sullivan with two assists. He and Mason Mertz fired three shots at the net.
Reed Newbanks and Josiah Tanner made two on-goal attempts, while Russell Politte had one.
