Eagles Fly Past St. Clair To Championship With 5-2 Win

The Eagles (17-9) beat the host St. Clair (7-15) in the Class 4 District 4 Semifinal on Wednesday, May 15. Sullivan’s 5-2 win over the rival Bulldogs advanced them to the championship, which they won later that night.

Dayton Skaggs was electrifying at the bat with two runs, including a homer, two walks, an RBI and a hit.

Seth Valley and Alex Toews both tallied a run and a hit.

Drake Gawer and Nolan Ulrich made a walk.

Landen Doza racked up a run, an RBI and a hit.

Gavin Schmidt drove in an RBI.

With 23 batting appearances, the Eagles chalked up four hits, four walks and 3 RBIs. Despite the Bulldogs making four more hits and two more walks, Sullivan’s no-fly-zone worked its magic in shutting them down.
