Eagles Basketball Splits Two Games

The boys varsity basketball has been putting up serious points this season. The Eagles played in two away games this week and have been on a roll. They only fell by nine points on Tuesday and redeemed themselves on Friday. Sullivan fell to St. James, 50-41. The Eagles surged past New Haven, 51-28.

St. James

It was a high scoring game on Tuesday. Sullivan traveled down 44 to take on the Tigers. St. James battled with Sullivan the whole game, but the Eagles collapsed on the road. Sullivan fell to the Tigers by nine, 50-41.

Sam Summers led the team in points with 13. Gavin Dace followed with nine and Drake Gawer had seven. Gabe Dace and Aiden Kirk each grabbed six.

Sullivan’s defense rocked with 21 turnovers and one steal. The Eagles collected 36 rebounds and Summers had the most with 12. Gavin Dace followed with 11. Gawer and Gabe Dace each had five. Kirk finished with three.

New Haven

The Eagles steamrolled the Shamrocks on Friday. Sullivan was motivated from the early week loss against St. James and capitalized against New Haven. This brought the Eagles record to 13-9 so far on the season. Sullivan has three regular season games left with two being home games this week. The Eagles defeated New Haven, 51-28.

Gavin Dace led in points with 19. Chris Glaser followed with nine. Summers and Kirk each had five points. Cambrian Koch landed four points. Gawer, Gabe Dace and Matthew Mallory each finished with three.
