Denneys Cap Off Record-Breaking Season At State

On Saturday, Nov. 4, sibling cross country runners Abram and Mariah Denney finished their record-breaking season at the Class 4 state championship in Columbia at the Gans Creek Recreation Area. Backup runners Parker Whaley and Eden Lambert as well as head coach Terry Wood accompanied them on the trip.

Freshman M. Denney finished 5th out of 155 runners with a time of 18:43.80 and received All-State honors. She broke the Sullivan school record for the highest state placement for a girl.

Junior A. Denney achieved a career-best, ranking 2nd all-time among all Sullivan male runners. He placed 43rd out of 157 runners, completing the race with a time of 16:24.40.
