C Team Comes Up Short In Overtime Clash Against Northwest, Losing 40-38
Sullivan’s boys’ basketball C team came up short 40-38 in an overtime thriller against Northwest (Cedar Hill) on Friday, Jan. 5.
The Eagles asserted their dominance against the Lions in the first quarter. Chase Black netted two three-pointers and Caleb Kwok scored on a jump shot. With both teams tied up with 30 seconds left in the period, Raiden Redd clutched a layup to take a 10-8 lead.
Northwest and Sullivan continued to keep it neck-in-neck in the second period. The Eagles kept it competitive, with Cash Ray fast-breaking for a score, Spencer Thomure grabbing two points, Black seizing a free throw and Wyatt Smith executing a layup. Sullivan entered the locker room trailing one point behind the Lions.
Sullivan regained the lead in the third quarter as Redd laid it into the basket two times, Kwok broke through the Lions for a score and Zaiden Marler delivered a layup. Redd drove down the court to the basket on two separate occasions, racking up four points to tie it up 28-28.
