Boys Wrestling Wins First At Bob Georger Classic
Sullivan’s boys wrestling team finished in first place as a team out of 17 at the 44th annual Bob Georger Classic in De Soto.
Seven boys finished with medals in their classes.
Carter Blankenship finished in fourth place in the 106 weight class. He was pinned by Timothy Link of Pacific at 1:51 in the quarterfinals. Blankenship received a bye in the consolation round one. He pinned Michael Williams of Mehlville at 1:30 in the consolation semifinals. He was pinned by Timothy Link of Pacific at 3:59 in the third place match.
Curtis Rall represented in the 120 class. He defeated Braxton Drummond of DeSoto by a technical fall of 16-0 in championship round one. He was pinned by Josh Hurt of Herculaneum at 2:54 in the quarterfinals. Rall pinned Ian Pauley of Windsor Imperial at 2:18 for consolation round two. He was pinned by Austin Hassel of Central Park Hills at 1:45 in consolation round three. Rall pinned Tate Martin of Pacific at 1:03 in the fifth place match.
Eli Peregoy finished with a third place medal in the 126 weight class. In championship round one, he pinned Luke Garland of Potosi at 1:21. He fell in the quarterfinals by Drake Peeler of DeSoto by an 8-3 decision. In consolation round two, he pinned Andrew Kaletka of Mehlville at 1:11. He defeated Colin Scott of Sikeston by a 4-2 decision in consolation round two. Peregoy defeated Austin Neff of Festus by a 2-0 decision in the third place match.
Dominic Ransom was the champion of the 132 class. He pinned Nick Pruett of Festus at 1:21 in the quarterfinals. Ransom won by a 4-3 decision over Aidan Kelly of Liberty Wentzville. He pinned Warren Fiedler of Pacific at exactly two minutes to win the championship.
Adam Peregoy took second place for the 138 class. In the quarterfinals, he pinned Gerad Lauterwasser of DeSoto at 5:17. He pinned Elias Neely of Union at 1:32 for the semifinals. He fell to Owen Dowdy of Notre Dame Cape Girardeau by a 14-3 major decision in the first place match.
Ethan Hurt medaled in third place for the 145 class. He received a bye in championship round one. Hurt pinned Hayden Barker of Windsor Imperial at 1:13 in the quarterfinals. He fell to Gabriel Hoekel of Union by a 4-2 decision in the semifinals. In consolation round three, He pinned Jackson Bushman of Liberty Wentzville at 5:58. Hurt pinned Barker at 2:33 for the third place match.
Colton Brendel finished in second place in the 152 class. In the quarterfinals, he pinned Kal-El Britton of Hancock at 0:51. Brendel pinned Max Knight of Webster Groves at 4:59 for the semifinals. He was defeated by an 8-6 decision by Justin Little of Liberty Wentzville in the first place match.
Ty Shetley was the champion of the 160 class. He received a bye in the first round one and pinned Hunter Settles of Central Park Hills at 4:14 in the quarterfinals. In the semifinals, he won by an 8-2 decision over Trenton Williams of Liberty Wenzville. He finished in first place when he won by a 14-2 major decision over Peyton Shaver.
Austin Brock competed in the 170 class. He pinned Ryan Stafford of Festus in 45 seconds in the quarterfinals. He was pinned by Cameron Busch of Windsor Imperial at 3:09 in the semifinals. Brock was pinned by Sam Lancaster of Sikeston at 3:02 for consolation semifinals. In the fifth place match, Brock pinned Lennox Pearigen at 1:37.
Bennett Sherrell finished in seventh place for the 182 class. In the first round, he pinned Lukas Hillstrom of Webster Groves at 5:04. Sherrell was pinned by Dominic Mullin of Sikeston at 1:53 in the quarterfinals. In consolation round two, he was pinned by Lukas Hoekel at 3:54. Sherrell pinned Crockett Griffin of Potosi in twenty seconds for consolation round three. He pinned Kolton Martin of Liberty Wentzville at 1:20 in the seventh place match.
Jacob Patton represented the 220 class. He pinned Nathan Wecker of Windsor Imperial at forty six seconds in championship round one. Patton was pinned by Aiden Martinz of Potosi at 1:21 in the quarterfinals. He was pinned by Mason Lay of North County at 3:10 in consolation round two. Patton was pinned in consolation round three by Kimball Lowe of Liberty Wenzville at 2:18.
Cayden Thacker finished in the 285 class. In the first round, he was pinned by Devon Scott of Mehlville at 3:23. He received a bye for consolation round one. Thacker fell to Dabid Mansco of Webster Groves by a 6-2 decision.
