Boys Wrestling Racks Up All-Area Accolades

Lawrence Wins Coach Of The Year

Boys’ wrestling head coach Carl Lawrence won the All-Area Coach of the Year award after leading his team to a program-high 8th-place finish at state. He also led his squad to second place at districts and the Four Rivers Conference Championship.

“Being voted All-Area Coach of the Year is an honor, and I feel very proud that our team was able to rack in most of the first-team votes. It says a lot about our program and how far we have come,” Lawrence stated. “We have several goals as a team, and the individual wrestlers themselves have individual goals they want to attain. Being selected on the All-Area team is always something the kids want. Seeing them get more accolades after the season just confirms that our program is in the right direction.”

Conner Roach (132) and Colton Brendel (165) were both selected for the first all-area team and placed third on the state stage. The four other wrestlers who earned a first-team spot were brothers Eli (138) and Adam Peregoy (150), as well as district champions Camden Henderson (113) and Dominic Ransom (144).

Sullivan’s second-team recipients were Carter Blankenship (120) and Dayton Skaggs (190).

The Eagles who were selected for honorable mentions were Oliver Borton (126), Drayson Nolie (138), Kane Strehl (175) and Jeremiah Rodriguez (215).
