Boys Wrestling Clinches 4th Place At Wentzville Liberty

Boys wrestling finished with 103 points and in 4th place out of 24 teams at the Wentzville Liberty Invitational on Saturday, Dec. 9.

Conner Roach (4-1) clinched 2nd place in the 132 class. He dominated his first round and then clutched a 12-1 major decision victory over Kai Foster. Roach won his next two rounds by technical falls, but struggled in the 1st place match.

Carter Blankenship made 4th in the 120 class. He swept his first two challengers to climb up the ranks. Blankenship then received a bye, but could not grab a victory in his final two matches.

Camden Henderson (3-2), weighing in at 113, made 5th place. He pinned William Foster down in 4:41, but then fell to Chase Gray and later to Luke Lawson in a lengthy 5:42 duel. Henderson bounced back with a swift 31-second takedown over Mervin Allen and a victory against Waylon Adkisson.

Adam Peregoy (4-1) landed 5th in the 150 class. He lost his first duel, but rebounded in his next four matches. Peregoy secured a 6-4 decision in his 2nd round, then pinned down Ian Brooks in just 17 seconds, overcame Jack Ziegemeier and won an 8-2 decision to earn 5th place.

Colton Brendel (3-1) ranked 5th in the 157 class. He first received a bye, then won in sudden victory by just 1 point. Brendel struggled in the Quarterfinal against Boston Howard, who won by a 6-3 decision. He then rebounded to win by major decision over Blake Tharp and a 2:06 pin in the 5th place matchup.
