Boys Soccer Fell Short, Losing 2-1 Against Washington

The Sullivan Eagles boys soccer team lost 2-1 to the Washington Blue Jays on Tuesday, Aug. 29. Sullivan last faced the Blue Jays in 2022 and lost 7-1.

All goals were made in the first half, while the second half remained scoreless. Sullivan tried to overcome the Blue Jays to tie the game, but fell short in doing so.

Senior midfielder/defender Wyatt Kraus was the only Eagle to score a goal. He also had 4 shots and earned 2 points. Kraus was selected as the MOTM (Man of the Match) by Immekus, who claimed it was “for his stellar play in the midfield.”

Midfielder/forward Carsen Dudley made a shot and corner kick. Forward/midfielder Dock Thomure completed 2 shots.

After their victory against Lebanon, Alex Toews served as Sullivan’s goalkeeper once again, making 8 saves out of 10 shots on the net.

Washington goalkeeper Colin Briggs managed to make 11 saves. Blue Jays Chase Humphries and Chris Jenner both scored to secure the win.

Junior varsity/varsity boys’ soccer will play next at North County on Thursday, Sep. 7 at 5 p.m. Their first home match will be on Tuesday, Sep. 12 against Fatima.
