Boys Soccer Claims 5th Win With 3-0 Shutout Over Dixon Bulldogs

The Eagles (5-11) picked up their 5th win of the season against Dixon with an impressive 3-0 shutout.

Dock Thomure, who was chosen by head coach Brian Immekus to be the Man of the Match for his performance, made 2 assists, 2 points and a shot.

Immekus explained in his selection that “as one of my seniors, Dock is expected to be a key contributor offensively for his team. I challenged him to get on the score sheet and he responded with two beautiful assists to help us win the game at Dixon. I was really pleased with his response and overall game Thursday.”

Cambrian Koch delivered an outstanding performance, scoring 4 points with 2 goals and 2 shots.

Carsen Dudley tallied 3 points, which included a goal, an assist and a shot.

Josiah Tanner attempted 3 shots, while Zechariah Beagle, Eli Peregoy and Dominic Roberts each made one shot.

Luke Herron had 2 corners during the game.

Looking Ahead

Sullivan played at Windsor High School in Imperial on Monday, Oct. 9. The following day, they took on Fredericktown at home. Stats were not available at press time.

Immekus is hoping to see the Eagles redeem themselves against these two teams they had lost to last year. In 2022, Windsor beat them 1-0 and Fredericktown won 9-3.

“We know both games are going to require high energy efforts from our team to compete,” he explained. “We went to penalty kicks with Windsor last year and it was a hotly contested match for 100 minutes. We’ll have to match our energy from last year to get a positive result.”

Regarding Fredericktown, Immekus stated that “last season we got embarrassed for a number of reasons, but nonetheless, we were embarrassed by our effort that night. It is very important to our team that we respond on our home field with an effort that will help us gain some amount of redemption from last season’s poor result at their place.”
