Basketball Teams Fall To Owensville On Tuesday

The boys and girls basketball teams finished out their regular seasons on Tuesday. Both teams played at Owensville. The Lady Eagles played first and fell to the Owensville Dutchgirls, 48-31. The Sullivan boys basketball team barely fell to Owensville on Tuesday, losing by only one in overtime, 53-52.

Girls

The girls put up a battle all season in their tough conference. Sullivan finished their regular season with a record of 10-14. The Lady Eagles were defeated by Owensville, 48-31.

Hayli Venable and Olivia Witt scored the most points with eight. Abby Peterson and Dakayla McClain followed with six points each. Kylee McReynolds finished with three points.

Sullivan’s defense was exceptional and forced twenty turnovers and four steals.

The Lady Eagles collected a total of 20 rebounds. Peterson led the most with seven. She was followed by McClain who had four. McReynolds had three. Witt and Venable each got two. Delaney George and Raegan Johnson each had one.

Boys

The Eagles basketball team has had a roller coaster season. The Owensville Dutchmen defeated Sullivan in overtime by one point. Owensville finished their regular season with only seven wins. Sullivan ended their regular season with a 14-11 record. They fell to Owensville, 53-52.

Sam Summers scored the most points with 19 and was followed by Drake Gawer with 12. Gabe and Gavin Dace each had eight points. Chris Glaser tallied three points and Aiden Kirk finished with two.

Sullivan’s defense forced 13 turnovers and six steals. The Eagles collected 18 rebounds and Summers led with five. Gawer, Kirk, Gabe, and Gavin Dace each had three. Seth Valley finished with one.
