Zachary A. Hicks, 27, of Sullivan, MO passed away at his home on Wednesday, August 31, 2022.

Zachary Alan Hicks was born on August 9, 1995 in Sullivan, MO to Alan Russell and Carol Ann (Kuntz) Hicks. He grew up and attended school in Sullivan and graduated from Sullivan High School. He remained in Sullivan and worked at Smokers Friendly, and most recently, at DKI.

Zach was blessed with a son, Jonah, and many dear friends. He was very in tune when it came to politics and history. Zach practiced jiu-jitsu and mixed martial arts, and he also dabbled in covered music.

Zach loved spending time outdoors and enjoyed being at the river and hiking. He was a big Star Wars fan and enjoyed playing video games. Zach will be very missed by his family and friends.

Zach is survived by his son, Jonah Hicks, of Van Buren, MO; his mother, Carol Hicks and her companion Dan Price of Sullivan, MO; his sister, Johanna Hicks and partner Christopher Brasherof Sullivan, MO; his grandmother, Johanna Meggison of Sullivan, MO; an aunt, Frances Kuntz; two uncles, Rich Kuntz and significant other, Amy Edwards and Fred Meggison and wife Amanda; a niece, Grayson; a nephew, Tobias; cousins: Francie Hicks, Madison Kuntz, Dylan Kuntz, Ian Meggison, Aden, Audrey, Rownen and Jayce; along with other extended relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Jared Courtney; and his grandfather, Richard Kuntz.

Services were held at 7 p.m., Friday, September 16, 2022 at the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan. Cremation  to follow.

Visitation was held from 5-7 p.m., Friday, prior to the service at Eaton Funeral Home.

Arrangements were under the care of the Eaton Funeral Home and Cremation Center of Sullivan.
