Wilma Lea McMillen, 85, of Sullivan, MO, passed away Monday, April 25, 2022 at Meramec Nursing Center in Sullivan.

Wilma was born in Berryman, MO, on February 12, 1937, to Jesse and Frances (Trask) Nethington. She grew up and attended Sullivan schools and graduated with the class of 1955. Wilma was blessed with three sons: Billy, Randy, and Michael. She worked hard raising her boys and took good care of them. Wilma was a gifted Mom, Grandma, and homemaker. Through the years, she was employed by Fashion Shoe, Meramec Industries, and lastly, TTI in Union, which she really enjoyed. At age 75, Wilma retired from TTI.

Wilma loved attending her children and grandchildren’s ballgames. She also loved to listen to the St. Louis Cardinal’s games on the radio, as well as watching their games on the television. She would listen to gospel music and Sunday sermons on the radio as well. Wilma always looked forward to her lunch dates with her sister Joyce and friends. Most of all, she cherished time spent with her grands and great-grands.

Wilma is survived by her three sons: Billy McMillen of Sullivan, MO, Randy McMillen of Sullivan, MO, and Michael McMillen of Iowa; five grandchildren: Katie Strothkamp and husband Jimmy of Japan, MO, Billy R. McMillen, Jr. and wife Erica of Bourbon, MO, Randy McMillen, Jr. of Spring Bluff, MO, Josh McMillen and wife Kayla of Spring Bluff, MO, and Ryan McMillen of Sullivan, MO; five great-grandchildren: Payslee, Aleeah, River, Hunter, and Annslee; one sister, Joyce Coffman of Sullivan, MO; a special sister-in-law, Nancy Juergens; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Along with her parents, Wilma was preceded in death by her grandson, Vance McMillen; two sisters, Ima Jean Nichols and Mary Ann Kendrick; and a sister-in-law, Bonnie Summers.

Funeral services were 2 p.m., Friday, April 29, 2022 at the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan, with Pastor Chester Lahmann officiating. Interment will follow in I.O.O.F. Cemetery.

Visitation was held from 12 to 2 p.m., Friday, prior to the service at Eaton Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions in Wilma’s memory may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
