Wilma Elizabeth Scott, 80, passed away peacefully at her home in Sullivan, MO, on Thursday, March 14, 2024. Born on April 25, 1943, to Theodore and Hazel (Richards) Teeter in the same town she would eventually leave her indelible mark, Wilma's life was a testament to her unwavering kindness and dedication to her loved ones and her community.

Wilma grew up in Sullivan and was a proud graduate of Sullivan High School with the class of 1961. Her early education laid the foundation for a life characterized by hard work, commitment, and the joy of service. Shortly after graduation, she married the love of her life, Robert Scott, on December 29, 1961. Their union was blessed with two devoted children, Samuel and Jari, and together, they created a warm and loving home in Sullivan.

In 1966, Wilma joined the team at KTUI Radio, where she began a fulfilling career that would span over five decades. Starting as a part-time employee, her dedication and talent soon saw her rise to the position of office manager. Wilma retired in 2017, leaving behind a legacy of professionalism and warmth that touched all who worked with her.

Wilma's love for music was evident through her years of service as a pianist for her church. Her talent and passion for the piano brought comfort and joy to her congregation. She was a faithful attendee of the Grace United Methodist Church of Sullivan, where she found spiritual solace and a community that shared her values.

Her commitment to her community extended to her involvement with the local Rebekah Lodge, where she was a long-time member and held many different offices including Noble Grand. Wilma's participation in the Rebekah Assemblies was marked by her characteristic kindness and a willingness to lend a hand wherever it was needed.

Wilma's interests were as diverse as they were heartfelt. She and Robert shared a love for adventure, whether it was flying in a plane or taking motorcycle trips across the region. In her younger days, she enjoyed camping trips with her family, creating memories that would be cherished for a lifetime. An avid reader, Wilma found pleasure in the company of books and the knowledge they imparted.

She also relished the opportunity to reconnect with old classmates at gatherings, where her warmth and genuine interest in others made her a beloved figure. Above all, Wilma adored spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, whose lives she enriched with her kindness and love.

Wilma is survived by her loving husband, Robert; her children: Sam Scott and wife, Michelle of Sullivan and Jari Dawson and husband Dave, of Bourbon, MO; 4 grandchildren: Robert Scott and wife, Jennifer, Brianna Blanton and fiancé, Chris Killebrew, Levi Dawson and wife Kayla all of Sullivan and Rani Kleinhein and husband, Daniel of Wentzville, MO; 10 great-grandchildren: Barrett, Ella, Linley, Brylee, Jaycee, Bowen, Adi, Chet, Caul, & Lettie; her siblings, Ted Teeter and Vivian Whalen and husband, Jerry all of Sullivan; a sister-in-law, Anna Teeter of Sullivan, and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
