William O. “Billy” Stubblefield, 78, of Sullivan, MO, passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, Feb. 1, 2021.

William Obern Stubblefield, called Billy by all who knew him, was born Oct. 5, 1942, to Floyd and Anna Loetta (nee Licklider) Stubblefield. At the age of 13, he was blessed with a brother, Ronnie Stubblefield.

Billy was raised in the Owensville area for most of his early life. He went to Owensville schools from elementary through high school. He was very involved in FFA and graduated with the Owensville class of 1960. Following high school, he was employed by the Missouri Highway Department. He met the love of his life, Lois Ann Danz, and they were eventually married on August 3, 1963. To this union three children were born: Bryan William, Bernita Ann and Barbara Jean.

Getting tired of the hustle and bustle of working in St. Louis each day, Billy and his brothers-in-law, James Martin and James Turner, started MST Masonry in 1973. They did work all over the state of Missouri, including the State Penitentiary in Jefferson City, the Lake of the Ozarks, Sullivan, Washington and St. Louis. Billy decided to retire in 2009.

Billy was a Christian and he and his wife, Lois, were baptized into Christ in the Meramec River, after a church revival on August 1, 1976. The revival was held where the now Sullivan Christian Church is located on Hwy 185. Billy was a member of the church for 47 years, where he served in different roles, such as Deacon, Elder and part of the building committee. MST Masonry also had the pleasure of laying the brick on the Sullivan Christian Church.

Billy was always an avid hunter and fisherman, as well as a lifetime member of NRA. He enjoyed hunting and fishing with his kids, grandkids and great grandkids. He also loved spending time with his family and was blessed with many wonderful and memorable family vacations. Billy especially enjoyed the family trips to the Lake of the Ozarks, twice a year for the past 15 years. Billy was always friendly to everyone he met, greeting them with a huge smile and entertaining them with a joke or a story.

Billy is survived by his wife, Lois, of the family home in Leslie, MO; one son, Bryan Stubblefield and wife, Cheryl, of Sullivan, MO; two daughters, Bernita Richardson and husband, Brad, of Leslie, MO, and Barbara Voss and husband, Kevin, of Washington, MO; nine grandchildren: Bryanna Beine and husband, Bill, Sarah Funkhouser and husband, Gerry, Willie Stubblefield, Logine Pohlman, Annie Richardson and fiancé, Austin Tyree, Baylee, Brooklin, Brendin and Blake Voss; five great-grandchildren: Dominick, Colton and Emma Beine, Carson Funkhouser and Ava Tackett; one brother, Ronnie Stubblefield; sisters-in-law: Joy Underdown, Karen Willis and husband, Floyd, and Glora Turner and husband, James; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
