Wilberta Ann Palmer, affectionately known as Willie to her friends and family, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 26, 2024, at the LifeCare Center of Sullivan, Missouri. Born on January 27, 1956, in Washington, Missouri, to Wilbert and Minne (Doyle) Busse, Willie's life was a testament to her loving, spirited, and generous nature.

Raised in Stanton and Sullivan, Willie's early education culminated in her graduation from Sullivan High School in 1974. She began her working life at the iconic Meramec Caverns, a place that sparked her lifelong appreciation for the beauty of Missouri. Willie's career path led her to the Brown Shoe Company, where she dedicated 16 years, developing lasting friendships and a reputation for her hard work and commitment.

Willie's life was transformed by the joy of motherhood; she raised two children, Justin and Amanda, with all the love and care a mother could give. Later, she expanded her heart and home by marrying Bill Palmer on December 17, 1995, becoming a cherished mother to Joey and Dawn. Her family was the center of her world, and she nurtured them with the same passion and dedication she brought to every aspect of her life.

Her big smile and giving personality made her a beloved figure among her colleagues.

Travel was one of Willie and Bill's greatest pleasures. Together, they explored numerous destinations, creating a tapestry of beautiful memories from their adventures. Willie's love for the outdoors was mirrored in her passion for gardening. She found solace and joy in tending to her flowers, each bloom a reflection of her care and attention.

Family gatherings and holidays were sacred to Willie. She cherished every moment spent with her loved ones, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere that drew people together. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were a source of immense pride and happiness, and she embraced every opportunity to be a part of their lives.
