Wanda M. Burnett, a cherished and loving figure in her community, passed away peacefully on November 30, 2023, at the age of 77, in Cuba, Missouri. Born on December 4, 1945, in the quaint town of Brazil Creek, Missouri, Wanda grew up and attended school in the nearby town of Bourbon, where she was a proud graduate of the class of 1964.

After completing her education, Wanda chose to remain close to her roots. She briefly worked for Paramount Apparel before embarking on a fulfilling career with the Bank of Bourbon. As a meticulous bookkeeper, she dedicated many years of service until her well-deserved retirement in 1994.

Wanda's personal life was equally rich and rewarding. She was united in marriage to her beloved husband, Marvin Burnett, on July 23, 1966. Their union was blessed with two wonderful children, James and Paula, who brought immense joy to her life. Wanda was a devoted mother, always putting the needs of her family before her own and instilling in her children the values of love, compassion, and integrity.

A true homebody at heart, Wanda found pleasure in the simple things. Her hands were rarely still, as she was often immersed in her favorite hobbies of sewing, quilting, crocheting, and embroidery. Her creative talents were evident in the beautiful pieces she crafted, many of which became treasured gifts for family and friends.

Wanda and Marvin shared a love for auctions, where they spent many happy hours together in search of unique and collectible antiques. Wanda and Marvin were long-time attendees of the First Assembly of God of Sullivan.

Among Wanda's greatest joys was her granddaughter, Olivia, whom she adored with all her heart.

Wanda's legacy is one of love, dedication, and the quiet strength that she demonstrated throughout her life. She will be remembered as a loving wife, a devoted mother and grandmother, a kind sister and a loyal friend. Her gentle, compassionate spirit and kind heart touched the lives of all who knew her.

Wanda is survived by her loving husband, Marvin Burnett of Cuba, Missouri; two children, Paula May and husband Chuck of Ballwin, Missouri and James Burnett of Sullivan, Missouri; a granddaughter, Olivia May of Ballwin, Missouri; two brothers, Virgil Bouse and wife Joan of Saint James, Missouri, and Sam Bouse of Cuba, Missouri; two sisters, Lois Woodcock and husband Kenny of Sullivan, Missouri and Beverly Bouse of Cuba, Missouri; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents Woodrow and Bonnie; paternal grandparents, Ferd and Myra Bouse; maternal grandparents, Walter and Florence Pennock; and a sister-in-law, Eunice Bouse.
