Vernon Leo Skornia

Vernon Leo Skornia passed away peacefully on March 7, 2022 at Ballwin Ridge Health & Rehabilitation skilled nursing facility in Wildwood, in the care of hospice, at the age of 87 years. Born September 10, 1934, in Tea, Missouri, he was the beloved younger son of Charles Henry Skornia and Irene Christina Cunio Skornia.

Vearnon’s early life was spent farming with his parents in Tea. He attended Owensville High School from 1948 – 1952. He was a member of Glee Club and graduated valedictorian. After the farm was sold in 1977, he lived many years in Gerald, and then finally in St Louis County.

He is preceded in death by his parents, sister Mable Sue and brother Wilbur. He is survived by nephews Mark and wife Jane of Eureka, Paul and wife Gloria of Wildwood as well as three great nieces, two great nephews, and one great-great nephew.

A memorial service and committal will take place at Old Argo Church on April 9 at 11 a.m. with visitation from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m.

Burial will be at Old Argo Cemetery, Bourbon, MO.
