Tommy L. Hood Jr.

Tommy L. Hood Jr., 64, of Sullivan, MO, passed to his Heavenly home on Sunday, February 6, 2022.
Tommy Lex Hood Jr. was born September 14, 1957 in Tucson, Arizona to Tommy Lex Hood Sr. and Marie (Browers) Gibbons. He grew up and attended Bourbon High School. Tom was united in marriage to Roxann Marie Cain on August 30, 1975 and they were blessed with two children, Alicia and Travis.
Tom was employed by Pacer for 17 years, Von Weiss Geer for 10 years and lastly, by Sporlan Valve for 10 years. He was a 36-year member of the Boy Scouts, where he served as Assistant District Commissioner. In the 70’s and 80’s, Tom was very active in the Jaycees Club. In recent years, he enjoyed conducting mountain man exhibits and teaching people about the old country ways. Tom also enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Tom was a dedicated Christian, being led to Christ by his Dad in 1981. He played drums for the Messenger Gospel Group for several years. Tom was a bit ornery, but was really a teddy bear with a grizzly exterior. He will be missed by his wife, children and grandchildren.
Tom is survived by his loving wife, Roxann Hood, of Sullivan, MO; two children, Alicia Frohbieter and husband Tim of Cuba, MO and Travis Hood and wife Megan of Sullivan, MO; his mother, Marie Gibbons of Bonne Terre, MO; six grandchildren: Dalton and Brea Frohbieter, Matthew Garner, Gabriel, Grace and Toby Hood; two brothers, Keith Meyer of Leasburg, MO and Leroy Brown of San Mateo, CA; five sisters: Jeannie Dodson and husband Tom of Japan, MO, Jackie Cook and husband Randy of Crystal City, MO, Janet Gibbons of Belleville, MO, Carla Cotner of East Des Moines, IA, and Karen Copling of Cuba, MO; nieces, nephews other relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his son, Christopher Hood; his father, Tom Hood Sr.; one sister, Patty Branham; his step-father, Jack Gibbons; and his parents-in-law, Leo and Jerry Cain.
Funeral services were 11 a.m., Friday, February 11, 2022 at the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan. Interment will follow in I.O.O.F. Memorial Cemetery – Sullivan.
Visitation were held from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., Thursday, February 10, 2022 at the Eaton Funeral Home.
